Johannesburg-based music group Tiger.X have released a new single "Frozen".
The Indiego team put out a few questions to Tiger.X, to find out more about the single,
and to also find out a bit more about this interesting group.
But first, take a listen to the song here
Who are the main members of Tiger.X? What are their roles?
Tiger.X is a musical trio, consisting of Nevita (Vocalist, Composer and Songwriter), Jonathan Eva (Producer, Composer, Engineer, Vocalist & Drummer) and J.A.S (Producer, Composer, Engineer, Songwriter & Rapper).
How, when, and where did you guys meet?
We met in 2012 at the Campus of Performing Arts (COPA) in Johannesburg, where we are currently completing our international BMUS Honours Degree.
Have you released anything previously or is “Frozen” your first release?
We released a song prior to “Frozen” called, “Rise Up”.
How would you describe the style/genre of this release (Frozen)?
“Frozen” is a crossover between Hip Hop and Alternative with Electronic elements.
Who wrote the lyrics for the song?
The song was written by Nevita, J.A.S, Jonathan Eva and the two featured artists, Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh and Buks.
A bit about the song. What is the story behind the song?
“Frozen” tells the story of a person who is stuck in time, at a level of stagnation and/ or going down the wrong path in their life. They have the potential to achieve their dreams but they have become immobilized by their bad life habits and/or circumstances. We have all been Frozen at some point in our lives and it is important to know that we can get out of that state and move forward in the right direction.
Who produced the song?
Jonathan Eva and J.A.S.
Where did you record the song? Did you master it yourselves?
We recorded the song at “TX music studios” (our own studio). It was mastered by Jonathan Eva and J.A.S.
Is this song part of an album?
No, at the moment we’re releasing single by single, because in this digital age, people respond more to the release of singles than to the release of albums.
Are there any plans for a video? Would it be different to your previous video “Rise up”?
Yes. The video has already been shot and we’re busy editing it at the moment. It is very different to the “Rise Up” video, as there are more varied scenic locations, it is darker, more emotional, and the majority of it was shot in Cape Town.

Where are you currently based? Are you planning on moving elsewhere to pursue your career?
We are currently based in Johannesburg. We will go wherever the music takes us.
And finally, what are your plans for the immediate future?
We plan on releasing more singles, more videos, and marketing our brand to bigger audiences worldwide. We will also be performing quite a bit in 2014. Check out our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Tiger.X.music or follow us on Twitter: @TigerXmusic for new releases and performance dates.
The Indiego team would like to thank Tiger.X for taking the time to answer all our questions and we wish them all the best in their music career
