Thank you for your interest in Soulitude!

About the Group

Sweet singing 2-man & 1-woman SOUL act, consisting of:

Joey - Band leader & joker, Joey has a great stage personality, & sweet (as well as raunchy) heart-felt emotional performances.

Willy - nicknamed 'The King of Croon', that's just what he does - Willy can make any woman (or man) swoon with his killer ballads.

Tamara - the blue-eyed SOUL of the act, Tamara provides a bluesy/jazzy feel in a crisp, clear & unique voice.

Music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, & beyond... Soul /Swing / R&B / Motown / Classic Rock / RocknRoll / Jazz / Funk / Blues & anything in between.

Following our first performance as a 2-man SOUL act in March 2011 at Theatrix in Boksburg, we have been going strong. We have performed at weddings, year-end functions, birthday parties, and also church gigs - one of which was among very talented jazz musicians.

In early 2012, feeling the need for a rose among the thorns, Tamara was asked to join the act. With her blues feel & her understated stage presence, she fit right in, offering a softer & more off-beat aspect to the repertoire.

Since then, we have had weekly residency at The Big ‘O – Edenvale (formerly O'Hagans), Jeppe Quondam Sports Club, Miphe’z Rendezvous – Norwood, & we currently have residence at the Keg & Beagle – Linksfield & New World Café – Jhb CBD.

We have also performed at cultural socials, birthdays, year-end parties, & more.

 Collective Influences

The O'Jays, The Stylistics, Chi-lites, Bee Gees, Tavares, Luther Vandross, Barry White, George Benson, Michael Franks, Al Jarreau, The Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Jeff Buckley, Robin Thicke, Eva Cassidy, and more…

What to expect

  • We have our own equipment, i.e. speakers, mixing desk, laptops, lights, curtains - we prefer to use our own equipment to get the best sound quality possible.
  • We perform to good-quality back tracks, therefore no muso's are needed (although we can organize various musicians should you want a fuller sound – although it must be organized at least 4-6 weeks prior).
  • We base our fee on various factors i.e. how many hours we perform and/or play music; whether it's private or corporate; & whether it is on a weekday or weekend/public holiday. If additional muso's are asked to join our act, a small additional fee will be required for their expertise.
  •  We require booking in advance, as we have residency at various venues throughout Jo'burg.
